June 7th, 2004: The ice is gone and the fish are biting!! We have not had a day without at least two trophies! The Walleye are stacked up in the West River, the Pike are still in #1 and Woods Bay and the Lake Trout are being caught in places you'd never expect since the water is still so cold......
Here are a few pictures of some trophies caught this week:

The guys at the outposts are doing well, especially Aswap. The last group landed 7 trophies including a 47 inch Pike and a 45 inch Pike.
June 9th, 2004: I thought this picture was worthy of being shown right away. We've had some very nice looking bears around camp over the past 15 years, but this cinnamon bear is I think the nicest. This picture was taken in the Mink River about 10 minutes away from the lodge.

June 16th, 2004: These updates are in high demand, I get more emails about keeping them coming than anything else, so here we go. Lots of trophies lately! The big Pike are the most popular trophies lately, the big Walleye have not been biting like we're used to compared to the past 3 seasons. This week I think things will change because we have a group that's concentrating mostly on the Walleye fishing, of course I always say "Go for whatever is biting the best." The Lake Trout are still in the shallows and it's already mid June...everything is late this year.
The weather was really ugly on Sunday but we managed to sneak the airplanes in and out and only the guys who booked an early flight out of Winnipeg (hoping for a normal day) missed their connecting flights. The weather is great today and it's suppose to stay nice for the rest of the week. Here are a few more pictures from the past few days:

June 19, 2004: Once again the weather was nothing like the forecast. We had snow, wind, hail, rain and down right cold temperatures this week. It was supposed to be nice, but the wind swung around and came from the North bringing some nasty stuff. Even though the weather has not been cooperating this season, the fish sure have. The bigger Walleye have started to hit and the Pike haven't stopped. There have been a few more big Lake Trout, including a 35.25 inch Laker caught within site of the lodge at hole number 2. This tells me that the water has not warmed up yet because the Lake Trout are still shallow. I'm happy to post more pictures from the past week.

June 25th, 2004: We're still waiting for summer here this year...it's been raining and cold for just about the entire month. Last year at this time we were praying for rain because we had forest fires and temperatures in the 70's and 80's just about every day in June. At least the fish are cooperating, we caught a bunch more trophies again this week including a few more Walleye and a 45.5 inch Pike!
Here are a bunch more pictures from the last week:
