For your flights to and from Winnipeg, Continental Travel will contact you to give you great fares and other preferential treatment for booking with Bolton Lake Lodge. With most special fares, you have to pay right away and you cannot make any changes without serious penalty, however with the Continental Travel program you have advantages like lower fares, you are not restricted to travel over a weekend, you only need to pay 1 month after you book your tickets, and you can change names of your party members provided the flight is not sold out. Advantages like these combined with low airfares makes Continental Travel a great alternative to spending time and energy for seat sales that limit your flexibility. The 46 passenger aircraft we charter brings you, your gear, and fresh supplies to the lodge. Please see our planes page for more flight information.

The flight is about an hour and a half and the flight attendant serves coffee and muffins during the flight. Once you have arrived at the lodge, we show you to your cabin, give you breakfast assign you your guides. Every two guests get their own guide who will stay with them for the duration of their trip.

    NEW IN 2002

In case you were not with us in 2002 or 2003, here are some updates.

We have abandoned our old location and moved everything to within walking distance of our airstrip. The old lodge has been dismantled for scrap and the new lodge features a new bar, dining room, kitchen, tackle shop and office for satellite phone calls and satellite emails. The new site and lodge is a great improvement in terms of convenience and comfort. The boat rides are shorter, and the view is incredible for sunsets and Northern Lights.

We have also upgraded all our guest cabins so that now every 2 person bedroom has it's own private bathroom. We have new carpet and new propane heaters in all the cabins which provide more comfortable heat than the old oil heaters.

The lodge, the cabins and the boats are all new at Bolton Lake, so we'd like to invite all our past customers and everyone else to come see the New Bolton Lake Lodge in 2006!!

    WHAT TO EXPECT UPON ARRIVAL:

Each new day starts with coffee delivered to your room and breakfast is served between 7 and 8 a.m. Your guides fill your cooler with drinks of your choice and take you fishing for Pike, Walleye or Lake Trout. Around noon, your group meets for shorelunch at a designated spot on the lake. The shorelunch spots have firewood that's precut, a picnic table and a fire pit so there is no wasted time setting up your lunch spot and collecting wood for a fire. Your guides fix a shorelunch that they have perfected. They have years of experience and love to make a shorelunch that you will look forward to. Fried fish is the main fare, however our guides have created a number of different baked recipes as well as a cajun style fish and even grilled fish over the open fire. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know before your trip so that we can have the ingredients at the camp before you arrive.

After your day of fishing, you return to the lodge where our bar is set with hors d'oevres and cocktails.

Then dinners such as prime rib, steaks, chicken, and other special meals are served with all the trimmings. It is not a buffet, but it is a set menu nightly.

In the evening the boats are free to be taken out and you can choose to have a guide with you. They charge a nominal fee for their overtime.

At the end of your trip, we fly you back the Winnipeg International airport.

Please see our rates page for more information.
